Unplugged is a photography project born out of a deep appreciation for the grassroots music scene in Lincoln. Through portraits of local musicians and the independent venues that host them, this project documents a culture that is increasingly at risk. With countless grassroots venues across the UK closing every week, Unplugged serves as a visual reminder of what we stand to lose. These small stages are where musicians find their voices, communities come together, and creativity thrives without commercial pressure. This work is both a celebration and a call to preserve the spaces that make musical journeys possible.
To my musician friends: Thank you for the noise, the vulnerability and the late nights. This project is for you- your passion, your hard work and the stories you tell from stages both big and small. Keep playing, we need you more than ever.
